The Golden Stride respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything below is unclear, email us at [email protected] and we'll explain.

Information you provide

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you provide your email address. Newsletter delivery is handled by beehiiv, and your email is stored on their systems under their privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any newsletter we send.

If you email us, we keep that correspondence in our inbox for as long as needed to respond and follow up. We don't use it for anything else.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and any analytics tools we use may collect:

  • Your IP address (used to deliver pages, mitigate abuse, and produce aggregated location statistics)
  • Your browser type, device type, and operating system
  • The pages you visit, how you arrived, and how long you stayed
  • Referring URLs (the page that linked you to us)

This data is used to understand which content is useful, fix issues, and protect against malicious traffic. It is not sold to third parties.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for a few specific purposes:

  • Functional cookies set by Cloudflare to help pages load and to defend against abuse.
  • Analytics cookies (if enabled) to understand how readers use the site in aggregate.
  • Affiliate cookies set by Amazon or other retailers when you click a product link. These let the retailer credit a referral to us if you make a purchase. We do not see your individual purchase activity — we only see anonymous, aggregated reports from the affiliate networks.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking affiliate cookies will not affect your ability to browse the site, but it may prevent us from earning a commission on purchases you make after clicking our links.

Affiliate links and tracking

Many of our product recommendations include affiliate links to Amazon and other retailers. When you click one of these links and make a purchase, the retailer pays us a small commission. This doesn't change the price you pay.

We use a redirect system (links beginning with /go/) to manage these links cleanly. When you click one, your browser is redirected to the retailer's site, where the retailer's own cookies and tracking take over.

We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Amazon and other retailers have their own privacy policies that govern how they handle your information once you visit their site.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us run the site — Cloudflare (hosting and DNS), beehiiv (newsletter delivery), and similar vendors. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and only handle data on our behalf.
  • Law enforcement or legal process if we are required to disclose information by valid legal request.

Children's privacy

The Golden Stride is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from newsletter: use the link at the bottom of any email we send, or email [email protected].
  • Control cookies: use your browser's cookie settings to block or delete cookies. Most browsers also offer "Do Not Track" signals; while not all sites honor these, we do not actively override them.
  • Request information or deletion: if you're in a jurisdiction that gives you the right to request a copy of your data or its deletion (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), email [email protected] and we'll respond within the timeframes the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify newsletter subscribers. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
